What to know about the Iran war:
- A U.S. service member was killed in action in Iraq on Saturday, bringing the death toll among U.S. service members in the war with Iran to 17, the U.S. Central Command said Sunday. More than 400 U.S. troops have been wounded.
- The U.S. conducted a ninth straight night of strikes on Iran, the U.S. Central Command said Monday.
- As part of those strikes, the U.S. targeted Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces who were believed to have launched Iran's attack Friday on a Jordanian military base that killed at least two U.S. troops, the Pentagon said. A third U.S. troop was missing in action following Iran's attack. CENTCOM said Sunday that unidentified remains were found where the U.S. service member went missing.
